According to veteran reporter Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 in Houston, the Green Bay Packers cut former Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Kahlef Hailassie from their practice squad on November 3.
Hailassie started his career with the Chiefs as a free agent after the 2023 NFL Draft but was never a member of Kansas City's practice squad or 53-man roster.
Since his time with the Chiefs came to an end, Hailassie played in stints for the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, and Jacksonville Jaguars before joining the Packers earlier this year.
News of Green Bay's decision to part with Hailassie was announced by Wilson in a post to his official Twitter account:
While Hailassie's time in Kansas City was relatively brief, general manager Brett Veach is sure to be keeping tabs on the former Western Kentucky Hilltopper as the Chiefs look to improve their roster ahead of the 2026 NFL trade deadline later this month.
