The Carolina Panthers are continuing to sniff out their options at a position of dire need.
Per the league transaction report, the team hosted cornerback Jack Jones for a visit on Tuesday.
Jones began his NFL career as a fourth-round pick of the New England Patriots from the 2022 draft. He's gone on to pick up additional stints with the Las Vegas Raiders (2023 to 2024), Miami Dolphins (2025) and, most recently, the San Francisco 49ers (2026).
In his five pro campaigns, Jones has made 38 starts over 66 outings. He's totaled 224 combined tackles and eight interceptions—four of which he returned for touchdowns.
San Francisco fielded Jones in seven contests this season. He recorded 23 snaps on defense and three on special teams prior to his release last week.
Down starters Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson, Carolina only has three cornerbacks on their active roster—Chau Smith-Wade and rookies Will Lee III and Malcolm DeWalt IV.
