Two of the New Orleans Saints most prominent recent draft picks will return to the field Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, but another appears to be a healthy scratch.
Defensive tackle Christen Miller, whom the Saints selected with the No. 42 overall pick this year, will not play against the Browns. Miller was not on the injury report this week, meaning he either suffered a late injury or the Saints decided to keep him inactive.
Miller has appeared in four games this season, recording five tackles. He missed a significant chunk of the summer and training camp with injuries, and since returning to the field he has struggled to crack the Saints’ interior defensive line rotation.
Also inactive for the Saints this week are quarterback Zach Wilson (emergency third QB), safety Mike Reid, running back C.J. Donaldson (shoulder/concussion), linebacker Jaylan Ford, tackle Mason Murphy and defensive tackle John Ridgeway.
Several players who were questionable coming into the week will play, including receiver Jordyn Tyson and offensive tackle Kelvin Banks, the Saints’ first-round picks from the last two seasons. Starting outside corner Martin Emerson (shin) and backup offensive tackle Asim Richards (thumb) are also active.
