Regardless of the outcome of today's game between the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns, one player will make history. New Orleans defensive end Cameron Jordan will suit up in his 250th regular season game this afternoon. Jordan was a first round pick, the 24th overall choice, by the Saints in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Cal. He has played his entire career for the Saints, which also includes 11 playoff games.

When Jordan takes the field for regular season game number 250 today, he'll achieve a rare milestone. He'll become just the third defensive player to play in 250 or more games in NFL history with the same team. Cornerback Darrell Green played 295 games with the Washington Redskins over a 20-year stretch between 1983 and 2002. Defensive end Jim Marshall suited up in 282 contests for the Minnesota Vikings between 1960 and 1979, a span of 20 seasons. Green is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, while Marshall was a semifinalist in 2023 and 2024.

Cam Jordan is the son of former Minnesota Vikings tight end Steve Jordan, who played 176 games between 1982 and 1994 for the Vikings. Cam is in his 16th NFL season, missing only three games in his entire career. His 249 games and 243 official starts are both the most in Saints franchise history. Over those 16 years, Jordan has 132 sacks, 17 fumbles forced and 12 fumbles recovered, 177 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions with 1 touchdown return, and a safety. Jordan's 132 sacks trail only Von Miller (139.5) among active players and is the 18th highest total in NFL history.
