Rangers tried and eventually failed in their pursuit to secure the services of Jens Hjerto-Dahl, who was at Tromso.
Hjerto-Dahl even agreed personal terms with Rangers, but a move to Ibrox did not materialise for him.
Eventually, the 21-year-old joined newly-promoted Premier League side Hull City for a reported fee in the region of £8m to £10m.

What do you make of Rangers potentially re-signing Mikey Moore on loan?
The Norwegian midfielder’s campaign has not gone as he would have wanted and he may already regret moving to the Tigers in the summer. On paper, it looked like he was joining a club in the Premier League, but he is not even a guaranteed fixture in their matchday squad.
This season, the 21-year-old has played just eight minutes of Premier League football, which came in one cameo appearance off the bench against Aston Villa at the start of September. Since then, he has not featured for the club in the English top flight.
He managed to get 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup defeat against Sunderland, but his performances in that match weren’t too impressive, as he has not featured for the first team after that. In fact, he has been playing for the Under-21s
At the end of October, Hjerto-Dahl was absent from the matchday squad for the Ipswich Town game and that was because of his involvement with the Under-21s. Nobody thought that would be his fate following a lucrative move in the summer.
Rangers viewed Hjerto-Dahl as a Nicolas Raskin replacement, but the Belgian ended up staying put at Ibrox. They signed Dan Neil and Vanja Dragojevic to bolster the midfield, and felt that another midfielder was not needed.
However, if Hjerto-Dahl was signed, he would have been the ideal partner to Raskin. While the Belgian could sit deeper and keep things ticking, the former Tromso man could play a box-to-box role and chip in with much-needed goals and assists.
His stock also would have significantly risen and put him in contention to make the Norway team, but things have gone downhill for him since joining Hull City.
