Falmouth Ladies beat Charlestown 2-0 in County Cup

Facing an opposition, Falmouth Ladies worked tirelessly together, showing great determination, composure and quality across the pitch to earn a well-deserved triumph.

From the whistle, Falmouth Ladies pushed hard to control the game with attacking and defensive players giving a strong effort.

Even though Charlestown proved a side, Falmouth Ladies kept creating chances and applied pressure on the opposition.

The first goal arrived around the minute when Jazz Spencer-Amos delivered an excellent assist to Yaina Andrew, who finished confidently to give Falmouth a 1-0 advantage.

This goal rewarded Falmouth Ladies' work and gave the team a strong start in the County Cup match.

Falmouth Ladies kept playing together with the defence staying organised and attacking players always searching for chances to extend the lead.

Clare Churcher was especially impressive in goal, making several brilliant saves to keep Charlestown at bay and preserve Falmouth Ladies' advantage.

Bonnie Swan also had a debut, working tirelessly in the right-back position.

Bonnie Swan delivered balls down the wing while making key challenges to stop Charlestown from moving into dangerous areas.

Bonnie Swan's determination and defensive awareness helped Falmouth Ladies keep control against an away side.

The team welcomed back familiar faces, including Lyndsay Williams, who gave a solid performance in defence and stayed vocal throughout the match to organise teammates.

Hayley Wyatt worked tirelessly at left-back while Yasmin Wong also delivered a performance, adding to Falmouth Ladies' strong overall display.

After the break, Falmouth Ladies returned with the determination and kept working hard across the pitch.

Their efforts soon paid off when Mia Gallie provided an assist for Shan Donnelly, who scored to double Falmouth Ladies' lead and put the team in a commanding position at 2-0.

Both goal scorers played roles in the victory while Jazz Spencer-Amos kept causing problems for the Charlestown defence.

Jazz Spencer-Amos's persistence, constant battles for possession and well-timed runs created chances though a few unlucky attempts narrowly missed the target.

Yaina Andrew was outstanding throughout the match, not only contributing the opening goal but also showing excellent skill, encouraging teammates and keeping the team focused.

For her all-round performance, leadership and influence on the pitch, Yaina Andrew was deservedly named Player of the Match.

Overall, it was a team performance from Falmouth Ladies.

Every player contributed to the result, with attacking threat, defensive organisation and hard work across the pitch proving much for Charlestown to overcome.

The clean sheet was especially pleasing, reflecting effort and communication shown throughout the team.

Falmouth Ladies would also like to thank everyone who came to support the team at Bickland Park.

Support from the sidelines is greatly appreciated.

The team would love to see even more people coming to watch and support the progress being made this season.

With a County Cup performance behind them, Falmouth Ladies can gain plenty of confidence from this result as they continue their campaign, carrying forward teamwork, determination and positive spirit that helped secure this impressive victory.
