Newcastle United boss Matthias Jaissle has been speaking to the media before Thursday's Carabao Cup game against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium (kick-off 19:45 GMT).
Here are the key lines from his news conference:
Jaissle is has "question marks" over Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Lewis Miley's fitness as they aim to return to the matchday squad after suffering injuries.
Anthony Elanga and Jacob Ramsey are making "progress day by day", but Jaissle refused to answer when they would return to a starting spot in the XI.
On Tino Livramento's rehabilitation progress, Jaissle said: "I can assure you I am seeing every day great professionalism in the rehab. Hopefully, we have him back soon."
Jaissle will look to find a "balance" rotating the squad, but expects "stabilisation" with players coming into the team.
The Newcastle boss said he will "go all in" for the EFL Cup competition, as he looks to mirror Eddie Howe's heroics in 2025.
He added: "We are getting huge support again in an away match. It is really special, during the week, that will we have 8,000 fans with us, taking the journey to support us."
On Tomas Amaral's appointment as head of first team recruitment, Jaissle said: "It's always good to improve things and Ross [Wilson] (sporting director) is for sure the responsible guy and is leading that department. It's always good for experts to have fresh energy in the team and we're looking forward to working together alongside him."
The Toon boss said it is "time to build" on Newcastle's 2-0 win against Crystal Palace, adding that his side did "the simple things a bit better" in the second half of their win over Crystal Palace.
