A former AEW executive has reportedly joined MLW as Senior Director of Live Events.
Mike Kitlas, who had been with Major League Wrestling since 2019, previously held the position. According to Fightful Select, he has departed the company. PWInsider reported that Kitlas, who previously worked for Madison Square Garden, has joined Real American Freestyle, a freestyle wrestling promotion co-founded by late WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan.
PWInsider noted that Mike Kitlas was well liked and “was one of the first in and last out of every venue MLW promoted.”
Fightful Select reported that former AEW executive Rafael Morffi took over as MLW’s Senior Director of Live Events about a month ago.
Morffi has the right experience for the MLW role, as he served as Vice President of Live Events/Touring at Tony Khan’s company from 2019 to 2023. He has also worked for TNA Wrestling as Live Event Tour Manager from 2016 to 2019.
MLW also saw another significant change backstage. Hollywood star Paul Walter Hauser, who has also competed for the company, announced his departure on Instagram. He joined the promotion as an executive producer a year and a half ago. Hauser explained that he decided to leave due to “creative differences.”
