Coventry City will be without four players for this weekend’s Premier League clash with Fulham, their first meeting with the London outfit since April 2022.

The Sky Blues go into the game on the back of a promising performance but disappointing result at Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

Goals from James Maddison, Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies cancelled out Jack Rudoni’s second of the season and left Frank Lampard’s men in 17th place, one spot and one point ahead of this weekend’s visitors to the CBS Arena.

Lampard will once again have to do without centre backs Aurele Amenda and Luke Woolfenden out with respective calf and knee injuries. Neither will return before the next international break. Haji Wright also remains out long-term due to a thigh injury.

And home-grown midfielder Josh Eccles is also working his way back after sustaining an ankle injury: “He’s progressing,” Lampard said.

“The ankle’s been an annoyance really for all of us because just as his calf injury is cleared up now the ankle is a bit of a problem, so it’s affecting his rehab and his recovery.

“He’s still not with us on the grass yet. I know he’d be frustrated with that. He had good news in his home life but we look forward to him being back outside with us.”

As for Fulham, Ryan Sessegnon is suspended having been sent off in stoppage time of last weekend’s 1-0 win over Hull City – their first of the season.

But Hugo Larsson and Emile Smith Rowe are expected to return after missing the Hull win.

“It has been a good week for everybody, preparing for an important game,” head coach Alvaro Arbeloa said. “Everybody is fit, everybody is available for tomorrow – [as of] before this training session. We will see later, but everybody's good.

“[Hugo] is okay. Emile had some issues after the last training session last Friday, but yesterday he completed all training sessions, so I think he will be available, but we will see later.”
