The Charles Schwab Cup race is down to 36 golfers. The PGA Tour Champions season finale will be held at Phoenix Country Club for a 10th time in two weeks, and there's now only 36 players left to contend for one last trophy.
It's also the final push for the season-long points title, called the Charles Schwab Cup. The top contenders include last year's winner as well as a Champions tour rookie who leads the circuit in wins.
Who made the 36? Who just missed out? And which big name is going to miss for the first time since 2007?
This is the full list of 36 who qualified for Phoenix in two weeks:
Stewart Cink
Zach Johnson
Steven Alker
Padraig Harrington
Retief Goosen
George McNeill
Boo Weekley
Ernie Els
Rory Sabbatini
Darren Clarke
Ben Crane
Alex Cejka
Jerry Kelly
Soren Kjeldsen
Y.E. Yang
Scott Hend
Darren Fichardt
Miguel Angel Jimenez
Tag Ridings
Richard Green
Tommy Gainey
Freddie Jacobson
Vaughn Taylor
Michael Wright
Cameron Percy
Tim O'Neal
Dicky Pride
Charlie Wi
Stephen Ames
Steve Allan
Ricardo Gonzalez
Vijay Singh
Matt Gogel
Bo Van Pelt
Thongchai Jaidee
David Toms
There were three golfers who started the week outside the top 36 who moved up to make the finale:
No. 17 Darren Fichardt (up from No. 46)
No. 31 Ricardo Gonzlaez (up from No. 40)
No. 34 Bo Van Pelt (up from No. 38)
The first five out are:
No. 37 Mario Tiziani
No. 38 Jason Caron
No. 39 Greg Chalmers
No. 40 Henrik Stenson
No. 41 Ryan Armour
That would be Matt Gogel, who was suspended by the PGA Tour Champions after he got popped for gambling in August. He missed the first two playoff events and managed to finish 33rd in the standings but his suspension started Aug. 23 and runs through Feb. 22, 2027.
No. 42 Michael Block
No. 44 Angel Cabrera
No. 45 Bernhard Langer
No. 54 Justin Leonard
On the PGA Tour, the three-playoff postseason ends at the Tour Championship and, of course, whoever wins that is the FedEx Cup champion.
On the senior circuit, it doesn't work the same. There is often one winner of the finale, the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, and a different winner of the season-long title, the Charles Schwab Cup.
Last year was one of the exceptions as Stewart Cink claimed both titles, something that's only happened three times since 2001.
2005: Tom Watson
2012: Tom Lehman
2025: Stewart Cink
