Stuart Kettlewell insists Ross County will continue to be relentless in pursuit of silverware across all competitions to make this season as successful as possible.
The Staggies marched on in the KDM Evolution Trophy earlier this week with a 2-0 win over Celtic B, and turn their focus back to league action against Peterhead on Saturday.
County now sit two points clear at the top of League One after last weekend’s results, are into the last 16 of the Challenge Cup and will kick off their Scottish Cup campaign at home against Brora at the end of November.
Competing on multiple fronts could be seen as an added challenge by some, but Kettlewell insists it is what careers are judged on and he refuses to let up in pursuit of potential glory in Dingwall this season.
“The Challenge Cup is a competition we take seriously, and it continues the brilliant run we’re on,” Kettlewell said.
“It’s all about trying to win silverware. Everything I want is success, for me and my coaching staff and a number of players who have tasted that success, and we’re trying to drill that into the group.
"You can talk about bonuses or what houses or cars you have, but in terms of a career in football, everything is measured on success and winning games of football and winning silverware.
"There is no other accolade which can replicate that feeling when doing it as a group.
"I know the beginning of November is early in terms of talking about that, but that has to be your aspiration as a player, not just here but throughout your career.
"There are so many top players who have not won anything or had that taste of victory or success. They've had good careers and played in good games but surely everyone who has played the game wants to be successful and win something.
"I've been fortunate in my career with promotions and trophy wins and cup finals. I've had that feeling a lot but I can assure you I have a motivation every single day to try and add to that, not so that I can tell everyone that's what I've done. It's because that's what we're here for and what we're trying to achieve.
"This club has a rich history in the Challenge Cup, but for me it's more about trying to achieve something as a group and to create your own piece of history at the football club.”
The Staggies will have home advantage against Peterhead this weekend, in a rematch of the opening league match of the season.
That day it was County who claimed the points in a 1-0 win away at the Balmoor Stadium.
"They were absolutely one of the teams that impressed me when we played against them,” Kettlewell added.
"They have a really good structure when they don't have the ball, and some attacking threats as well, which brings a nice balance to what they do.
"I think it will be a difficult game for us on Saturday. Even when I was younger, I always saw Peterhead as a really good club.
"I really respect their hospitality, and their journey coming through the leagues, so they are a really good club top to bottom that does things in a particularly good way.
"They are an excellent part-time team who contribute within the league, so we will have to make sure we learn from the first game and understand what they have been doing recently, because they have picked up some results and shown some consistency."
