Bryan Mbeumo gives instant reaction to Man Utd performance, sees three reasons to be positive

Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo is trying to stay positive despite another defeat.

Bryan Mbeumo was one of Manchester United’s better players against Chelsea, and came agonisingly close to scoring late in the game, when his shot crashed back off the bar.

United lost the fixture 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, failing to capitalise on a period of attacking dominance in the first half. Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer (penalty) scored Chelsea’s goals, with Lisandro Martinez sent off.

Mbeumo spoke after the game to MUTV and tried to take an optimistic view and lay out where Manchester United did show signs of improvement.

He said: “I think we, we actually played a solid game, a good first half especially, and even I think everything was good. The mentality, the, the work rate. So yeah, I think it’s gonna come. Yeah, of course.”

100 per cent. I can’t believe we won’t into the season with one, who was injured.

Not having a centre forward is killing us attacking momentum.

Mbeumo laid out three areas of improvement

Bryan Mbeumo went on to pick out three ways Manchester United’s performance was an improvement on the recent defeats.

He explained: “I feel like everyone linked together. When someone did great, then everyone was there as well to, to, to try to get profit on this, and yeah, I think yeah, it’s football. As I said, it’s gonna come for sure.

“Especially the structure was quite good today. I think the mentality as well.

“We had the lack of having chances the last few games, which we, we had quite good ones today. So I think this is, this can only be positive for the next few days.”

United do not have a lot of time to pick themselves back off the floor to take on Roma in the Champions League in midweek, before taking on Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

Mbeumo’s words are constructive and positive. He is not looking for excuses, which is smart, because nobody wants to hear them right now.
