Cole Palmer has named a rather unexpected player as his choice for number one most skilful at Chelsea.

Cole Palmer gave a very interesting answer when asked who Chelsea’s most skilful player is.

One’s mind goes to Estevao, to Palmer himself or maybe to Morgan Rogers. But the attacker had a different player in mind. He plumped for Jamie Gittens, the young English winger now in the second season of an injury racked time with the Blues.

“I just think he has all the attributes,” Palmer said when asked to explain his answer.

“Like his skills, his step-overs. I’ve never seen step-overs like it. And yeah, I just think it’s him. If he can build a bit of confidence and whatnot, then– [he can be a top player].”

Gittens struggles continue despite stepover skills

Gittens picked up an ankle injury playing for England’s Under-21s in the international break back in September, and hasn’t been seen since. It continues a very disrupting run of injuries for the youngster.

He has struggled to get fit, and when fit has struggled to convince any of his three managers so far.

Xabi Alonso’s press conference yesterday had updates on a number of injured players, including Jorrel Hato.

Xabi Alonso insisted that Wesley Fofana is more focused now, and should be in line to show some improved form in the weeks and months to come.

The manager gave an important update on Moises Caicedo, who missed a training session earlier this week. The Basque was infuriatingly vague, as ever.
