Chelsea have put out a few really bad loans this season, but one which seems to be going well is Mamadou Sarr’s move to Real Sociedad. He’s made himself a regular there, and is progressing as a player.
In an interview this week, he spoke about how horrible it had been to arrive at Chelsea in January, only to make a crucial mistake against PSG early on, and then feel frozen out.
“It was really very difficult – a rollercoaster,” Sarr said in quotes picked up by GFFN.
“I was coming back from the AFCON and I was on a cloud. I started to play, have some good matches, [but] the one against PSG and that error came quickly. [Then] no news. No sign of life. The first week was horrible regarding the criticism. And Rosenior, who brought me, was quickly ejected.
“No longer doing your job, staying on the bench and watching your teammates play was very hard to experience, especially without any explanation. And then, at the World Cup, I thought that I’d be playing, but, without rhythm, I didn’t.”
He went on to describe Real Sociedad as “the perfect club for me.” We’re happy things have improved.
According to Kieran Gill, Xabi Alonso is under pressure to use Emi Martinez after the goalkeeper declared himself fit for Sunday’s game.
Another thing Gill noted in his piece was that the reason Estevao was chosen to play against Man U was because of something very specific with their team.
