R.I.P. London Teams R.I.P. London Teams, also known by the initials RIPLT, is a writer and editor for Bavarian Football Works. He began his writing career in 2018 as part of his school newspaper and was brought in by BFW in mid-2022. Since then, he has built a reputation for his awesome jokes (citation needed), quick wit, and being a steadfast contributor to the site which mirrors his loyalty to Bayern Munich. Moreover, he has served as the Weekend Gameday Manager since 2024 and had a brief spell writing about his national football team. Outside of BFW, he is a rock-hard defender on the pitch and is always on the lookout for the best caffeinated drinks around.

Harry Kane experienced one of the defining moments of his career: winning the Ballon d’Or against all odds. The Bayern Munich striker has achieved numerous accolades with the club since his move in 2023, but one thing eludes him so far: the Champions League trophy.

“The Champions League is a big objective for me, and also this club, this team,” Kane said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “You know, as long as I feel like we’re competing, which we are, that makes me excited for the opportunity. Obviously, I know there’s been a lot of talk recently about me, about Ballon d’Or and the individual stuff, and obviously now with the new contract.” Kane recently extended his stay with Bayern to 2029.

“But ultimately, I’m looking forward to getting back to work and doing less talking and more playing, to be honest,” the 33-year-old stated. “So it’s important that we as a club and myself enjoyed these last couple of weeks, because it’s been an important moment in our history together. But ultimately, I know the team and playing is the most important thing, so I like to do my talking there as you know. We know our objective is to try and continue to dominate in Germany and win the league, try and win the cup again. But also try and win the Champions League. I’m here for until 2029. Of course, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to have at least one Champions League trophy in that period.”

Kane and Bayern came dangerously close to potentially winning the Champions League last season, falling short in the semifinals via a 6-5 aggregate defeat to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain.
