Trust Me, Once We Score – Arthur Zwane Sends Chilling Warning To Sundowns After 6th Straight Wins

AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has issued a strong warning to their Betway Premiership rivals, including Mamelodi Sundowns, following his team’s impressive run of six consecutive victories across all competitions.

The Durban-based club has emerged as one of the most exciting sides in South African football this season, with their consistent performances placing them firmly among the league’s leading contenders.

Usuthu extended their winning streak last weekend after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over provincial rivals Golden Arrows in the Durban Derby at Princess Magogo Stadium. Thandolw en kosi Ngwenya scored the decisive goal, handing AmaZulu another important three points.

The victory strengthened their position in third place on the league table, leaving them just four points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and raising expectations among supporters about a possible title challenge.

However, Zwane has remained cautious about discussing championship ambitions, insisting that his players must concentrate on their immediate responsibilities rather than becoming distracted by expectations.

“Right now, we don’t want to talk about league contenders or what. We are taking one game at a time,” Zwane explained.

The coach revealed that AmaZulu’s primary objective is to secure qualification for continental football next season, which he believes will help improve the squad’s experience and increase the club’s long-term value.

Zwane also reflected on the mistakes that cost his team valuable points last season, particularly late defensive lapses against several Premiership opponents.

According to the coach, those painful experiences have helped AmaZulu develop greater discipline, tactical understanding and stronger chemistry among players.

“When you compare us this season and last season, now we can hold on; we make mistakes, but not punishable ones. But trust me, once we score, we make life difficult for you,” he said.

His remarks suggest that AmaZulu have become increasingly difficult to break down once they take the lead, a development that could worry their title rivals.

Although Zwane continues to avoid championship discussions, AmaZulu’s six-match winning streak and their position close to the summit have made them one of the teams attracting serious attention.

With momentum firmly on their side, Usuthu will now look to maintain their consistency and secure their ambition of returning to African football next season.
