Nhlanhla Zwane Credits Golden Arrows Teammates For His Progress And Strong Performances

Nhlanhla Zwane Makes Big Golden Arrows Revelation As Midfielder Credits Teammates For His Rise

Golden Arrows midfielder Nhlanhla Zwane has opened up about the role his teammates have played in his development, insisting that the quality within the squad has helped him improve and maintain his growing standards on the pitch.

The talented midfielder has credited the competition and support within the Arrows dressing room for pushing him to work harder. Rather than taking individual praise for his progress, Zwane believes his teammates deserve recognition for helping him become a better footballer.

His comments offer an insight into the team environment at the KwaZulu-Natal club, where players are expected to challenge one another and maintain high standards as they compete in the Betway Premiership.

Speaking to iDiski Times, Zwane explained that his performances are closely connected to the quality of the players around him.

“I believe we have a strong squad, for me to be at the level where I am, it’s because of the guys, they sharpen me to pick up myself and keep of working hard,” he said.

The midfielder’s message highlights an important part of football development: individual improvement often comes through daily competition, encouragement and the willingness to learn from teammates.

In professional football, competition for starting places can sometimes create pressure within a squad. However, Zwane sees the quality around him as a positive influence that encourages him to raise his game.

Having talented players in training means every session becomes an opportunity to improve. Players are challenged to make better decisions, increase their intensity and remain consistent if they want to keep their places in the team.

For Zwane, that environment has helped him recognise that progress is not achieved through individual effort alone.

His willingness to acknowledge his teammates also reflects the importance of collective responsibility at Golden Arrows. The club needs contributions from across the squad if it is to compete consistently against some of the country's established football teams.

Zwane’s rise has not happened overnight. He joined Golden Arrows from the University of Pretoria in 2023 and has gradually established himself as an important member of the squad.

His recent performances have attracted attention, with the midfielder emerging as one of the club’s standout players during the 2026/27 campaign.

Head coach Pitso Dladla has also spoken positively about his potential, although he believes there are still areas of his game that can improve. The coach has previously indicated that the technical team is working to help Zwane develop into a more complete midfielder.

Zwane’s contribution was also visible in Golden Arrows’ impressive 4-0 victory over Chippa United in the Carling Knockout Cup, a result that secured their place in the quarter-finals. The midfielder was among the goalscorers in that convincing performance.
