All millennials are more tolerant of interracial relationships than their parents were, and there has been a shift in the public's view of football.

It's shocking that people still debate interracial relationships now that slavery, segregation, and anti-equality laws have ended.

Marrying beyond one's own race has grown increasingly popular among South Africa's top players. We take a look at five former African PSL footballers who are now married to white wives.

The Number One: Steven Pienaar

Former Bidvest Wits winger Steven Pienaar jetted off to Ibiza, Spain, earlier this year to wed longtime lover Awa in a Moroccan-themed ceremony.

The former football star's clothing for the special occasion had a Moroccan motif. As a follow-up to the initial ceremony, the newlyweds hold a "white wedding." This stunning couple is triple blessed with their three adorable children.

Second, Nyasha Mushekwi

Sundowns' forward got hitched in Sweden to his longtime love Arsema Ghebrehiwot in the winter of 2020.

Everyone who mattered was there: close friends and family from both sides.

3 Mame Niang

Former Mamelodi Sundowns player Mame Niang married the woman of his dreams, Maren, on New Year's Eve, 2016, in a stunning ceremony held at the Devonland Golf Estate in Stellenbosch.

Also present were football players George Maluleka and Kermit Erasmus. Maren's native Norway is where the gorgeous pair makes their home. Thanks to their union, they now have a son and a daughter.

A. Benni McCarthy, No. 4

The former Orlando Pirates forward wed the woman of his dreams, Stacey Munro, in a secret ceremony in Scotland in 2014. Another football player named Nasief Morris was present.

The sweet couple now has a son and a daughter.

Stanton Frederick, No. 5

Sue, a former football player for KZN, wed his longtime love in a small wedding on a farm outside of Cape Town at the beginning of this year.

One of the groomsmen was Spencer's best friend, the former football player Stanton Fredericks.
