South African football supporters are preparing for an exciting round of knockout action after the Premier Soccer League (PSL) confirmed details for the 2026 Carling Knockout Cup quarter-finals, with Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns among the clubs targeting places in the semi-finals.
Eight teams remain in contention for the prestigious trophy, including Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, AmaZulu, Stellenbosch FC, Sekhukhune United, Golden Arrows and Siwelele FC. With the competition entering a decisive stage, every remaining fixture carries enormous importance.
Mamelodi Sundowns are scheduled to face Golden Arrows on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, with kick-off set for 19:00. The Brazilians will be hoping to capitalise on home advantage, although Golden Arrows have the potential to cause an upset.
Kaizer Chiefs will take on Siwelele FC after securing their quarter-final place with an impressive 3-0 victory over TS Galaxy. Wandile Duba was the standout performer in that encounter, scoring a hat-trick that strengthened his growing reputation.
Meanwhile, defending champions Orlando Pirates face a difficult challenge against Sekhukhune United as they attempt to keep their title defence alive. Pirates will be determined to demonstrate their championship credentials by progressing to the last four.
The remaining quarter-final fixture will see Stellenbosch FC meet AmaZulu, who arrive with encouraging momentum under head coach Arthur Zwane.
The scheduling has also been influenced by the local government elections and Sundowns' preparations for their CAF Super Cup clash against USM Alger on 7 November.
The semi-finals are scheduled for 21 and 22 November, while the final will take place on 12 December 2026.
With several ambitious clubs still competing, the quarter-finals promise intense encounters as the race for Carling Knockout Cup glory gathers momentum.
