Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz has made it clear that Nkosingiphile Ngcobo’s route back into regular action is firmly in his own hands, urging the midfielder to keep working hard and seize his opportunities when they come.
Ngcobo, popularly known as Mshini, has struggled for consistent game time at Amakhosi, raising questions about his role in the team. However, Da Cruz has dismissed suggestions that there is a particular problem with the player, insisting that continued effort remains the key to earning more minutes.
Speaking about the midfielder’s situation, the Chiefs coach pointed to the importance of patience, dedication and making the most of opportunities on the pitch.
“There is no issue with Mshini. Mshini just needs to continue to work a lot. And if he continues to work a lot, he can hope to get his chances, as he already had against Golden Arrows in the MTN8 Cup,” Da Cruz said.
The coach’s remarks suggest that Ngcobo remains part of the club’s plans, although he must continue to compete for his place in a squad where opportunities are not guaranteed.
His appearance against Golden Arrows in the MTN8 Cup serves as an example of the chances available to him, with the midfielder expected to build on such opportunities through consistent performances in training.
For Ngcobo, the message is straightforward: keep working, remain patient and be ready when the next opportunity arrives.
With the season progressing, the midfielder will hope to turn Da Cruz’s confidence into more regular involvement at Kaizer Chiefs.
