Kaizer Chiefs Explain Renaldo Leaner’s Absence After Viral On-Field Clash With Reeve Frosler

Kaizer Chiefs have provided an explanation for why custodian Renaldo Leaner did not start in the second leg match against Red Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium. The reason for this decision was made in light of the reports that have been circulating regarding his recent altercation with teammate Reeve Frosler.

After the video of Leaner's angry altercation with Frosler went viral online following Amakhosi's 1-0 loss in Ndola, Zambia, supporters started to question why he wasn't on the matchday roster. The matchday roster was announced after the defeat.

It wasn't long before the topic of whether or not the event had any impact on the decision to bench the custodian began to circulate, particularly considering that the rematch had already begun.

Leaner will not be able to participate in the match that will take place on Friday as a result of an injury that he sustained during the training session that took place on Thursday, according to the announcement made by Kaizer Chiefs.

A statement made by the club put an end to the speculation that his absence was inextricably linked to the argument with Frosler. The club stated that the injury occurred as they were making preparations for the crucial match.

As a result of the injury that Leaner received during practice, the Chiefs have issued a statement announcing that he will not be able to participate in the game.

In light of the fact that the Chiefs are working hard to establish themselves as a contender in European competition, the timing of these events couldn't have been more appropriate. After suffering a close defeat in Zambia, the giants from Soweto entered the return leg of the match with the expectation of putting on a strong performance in front of their home fans.

A lot of attention had been brought to the conversation that Leaner and Frosler had shared on the internet, and people were curious about how the team was doing. According to the statement released by the club, the goalie did not participate in the game because of an injury.

As of now, there has been no official announcement on whether or not Leaner was disciplined as a consequence of the occurrence.

Even while the Chiefs continue their campaign in Europe, fans will be keeping a close check on the development that the custodian is making and whether or not he will be able to return to action.
