USM Alger chairman Bilal Nouioua has declared his belief that his team can defeat Mamelodi Sundowns in their upcoming CAF Super Cup clash, expressing confidence ahead of the highly anticipated encounter in South Africa.

The Algerian side has travelled to South Africa for the continental competition, with Nouioua maintaining that his players possess the quality and determination needed to overcome the reigning South African champions.

The encounter is expected to be a major attraction for African football supporters, considering the achievements and continental experience of both clubs. Sundowns have developed a reputation as one of Africa's strongest teams, while USM Alger have also established themselves as serious competitors in CAF competitions.

Nouioua's remarks demonstrate the positive atmosphere within the Algerian camp as the team prepares for the decisive fixture. The chairman believes his players have an opportunity to prove their capabilities and bring another prestigious continental trophy back to Algeria.

However, securing victory will not be straightforward, as Sundowns possess considerable experience in important African competitions. The South African outfit are particularly recognised for their ability to dominate possession, create attacking opportunities and maintain control during difficult encounters.

Playing in front of their home supporters could also work in favour of Sundowns, who will be determined to use familiar surroundings to their advantage.

Despite these potential obstacles, USM Alger are expected to approach the match with confidence, knowing that a strong performance could earn them another significant achievement in African football.

The CAF Super Cup is an important continental competition that brings together the winners of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, giving both sides an opportunity to compete for another major honour.
