Golden Arrows delivered an impressive performance in the Carling Knockout competition, securing a convincing 4-0 victory over Chippa United to book their place in the quarter-finals.

Abafana Bes’thende demonstrated their attacking quality and determination, scoring twice in the first half before adding two more goals late in the match to complete a dominant display.

Junior Dion opened the scoring in the 10th minute, giving Golden Arrows an early advantage and setting the tone for the encounter. The goal provided the Durban-based side with confidence as they continued to put pressure on their opponents.

Sabelo Sithole doubled Arrows’ lead in the 22nd minute, strengthening their position and leaving Chippa United with a difficult task heading into the remainder of the match.

Despite their efforts, Chippa struggled to find a response against an organised Golden Arrows side that maintained control of the contest.

The match was effectively settled in the closing stages when Nhlanhla Zwane scored in the 83rd minute to make it 3-0. Just two minutes later, Jerome Karelse added the fourth goal in the 85th minute, putting the result beyond doubt.

The emphatic victory sees Golden Arrows advance to the Carling Knockout quarter-finals with renewed confidence as they continue their pursuit of silverware.

For Chippa United, the heavy defeat brings their cup campaign to a disappointing end.
