Arsenal Beat Everton 2-0 to Draw Level with Manchester City in Premier League Race

Arsenal strengthened their position in the Premier League title race with a 2-0 victory over Everton at the Emirates Stadium, moving level on points with defending champions Manchester City after the two leading sides experienced contrasting results.

The Gunners secured all three points on Saturday, October 24, 2026, delivering a winning performance in front of their home supporters. The result came on a day when Manchester City suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Aston Villa, giving Arsenal an opportunity to close the gap at the top of the table.

Arsenal took the lead in the seventh minute when Ezri Konsa reacted quickly inside the penalty area to score from close range after Gabriel Magalhães’s header from a Martin Ødegaard corner struck the crossbar.

Everton attempted to respond but struggled to create clear-cut opportunities. Goalkeeper David Raya made an important save to deny Thierno Barry before half-time, ensuring the Gunners maintained their advantage going into the break.

The hosts continued to control much of the contest after the interval and eventually doubled their lead in the 68th minute. Ben White delivered an inviting cross from the right, allowing Gabriel to rise above the Everton defence and head the ball into the net.

The goal secured Arsenal’s victory and capped an important performance from their defensive players, who contributed at both ends of the pitch.

Meanwhile, Manchester City suffered a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa earlier in the day. The result ended City’s unbeaten start to the league campaign and gave Arsenal the opportunity to draw level with their title rivals on 21 points.

Arsenal’s victory represents a significant boost for Mikel Arteta’s side as they continue their title defence. However, the competition at the top remains intense, and maintaining consistency will be essential if the Gunners are to establish an advantage over City.

For Everton, the defeat marked another difficult afternoon against Arsenal, leaving David Moyes’s side with work to do as they seek to improve their results in the coming matches.
