Tragically, de Miguel passed away at the young age of 30, and the circumstances surrounding his death—which allegedly happened during a competitive football match—are even more tragic.

The occurrence took place at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium during Tenerife's match versus FC Andorra in the Spanish second division on Monday, November 2, as per the reports.

The unfortunate incident occurred in the last moments of the game when de Miguel and FC Andorra goalie Jesús Owono collided as they both fought for the ball. A medical team was quickly sent after the Tenerife striker was rendered unconscious on the field as a result of the collision.

At first, CD Tenerife verified that the 30-year-old's health was critical but stable. Tragically, his neurological condition worsened and the club confirmed his death on Tuesday morning, November 3, at about 8:00 a.m. local time.

The event led to the abandonment of the match, which was still tied at 2-2. Following the incident, custodian Owono received a straight red card.

In a heartfelt statement, CD Tenerife announced the striker's passing and sent their deepest sympathies to his loved ones, colleagues, and fans.

The club also expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from the football community and asked for privacy while the family dealt with this tragedy.
