Bobby Motaung Reaffirms His Importance at Kaizer Chiefs Despite Changes in Management Structure

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has spoken about his position at the Soweto giants, making it clear that despite taking on a more supportive role at Naturena, he remains an important figure within the club's management structure.

Motaung, who has been associated with Amakhosi for several years, explained that his relationship with the club goes beyond his official responsibilities as an employee. He believes he has a personal and moral responsibility to protect the legacy established by his father, club founder Dr Kaizer Motaung, in 1970.

According to Bobby, his connection to Chiefs is deeply rooted in the Motaung family's history and the responsibility of preserving everything the club represents. He described himself as part of the Chiefs family, emphasising that his commitment cannot simply be measured by his official job title.

His comments come amid continued discussions about changes in the club's leadership structure and the responsibilities of long-serving administrators. Motaung has traditionally been one of the most influential figures behind the scenes at Naturena, although his involvement in football operations, recruitment and managerial decisions has attracted criticism from sections of the club's supporters.
