Golden Arrows Fire Coach And Bring Back Old Favourite In Shock Double Move

Golden Arrows have made a big coaching change that has left fans talking.

The Durban-based Betway Premiership club sacked Pitso Dladla on Thursday afternoon. Just minutes later, they announced that Mandla Ncikazi is coming back as the new head coach.

The club wasted no time. Arrows management had grown unhappy with the team’s results under Dladla. Many people expected the change after Orlando Pirates revealed that Ncikazi had asked to leave for another job.

In a short statement, Golden Arrows confirmed the split with Dladla. “Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club and Coach Pitso Dladla have agreed to part ways effective immediately,” the club said. They thanked him for his efforts, commitment and dedication during his time at the club.

Then came the news fans had been waiting for. Ncikazi is returning for a second stint, this time as head coach.

“Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club is delighted to welcome back coach Mandla Ncikazi who returns to Abafana Bes’thende to take the reins as Head Coach,” the club announced. They described him as a familiar face, a proud son of the club, and a man who understands the culture and traditions of Golden Arrows.

The club said it is looking forward to benefiting from his knowledge and experience built over a long and successful career. “We look forward to this new chapter as we unite behind Coach Ncikazi and the journey ahead,” the statement continued. “Sthende Nation welcomes you back coach. Home is where it all begins. Siyakwamukela ekhaya, Mqeqeshi.”

Ncikazi knows the club well. He has worked there before and is seen as someone who can bring stability and direction. Supporters hope his return will help the team improve and climb the league table.

Dladla’s departure marks the end of a difficult period. The team had shown signs of struggle, and the board decided it was time for a fresh start. By moving so quickly to bring Ncikazi in, Arrows have shown they want to act fast and keep the momentum going.

For the players and the Sthende Nation, this is a new chapter. Many will be watching closely to see how Ncikazi settles back in and what changes he makes to the squad.

Golden Arrows have taken a bold step. Sacking one coach and appointing another on the same day is rare, but the club believes this is the right move. Fans will now wait to see if the change brings better results on the field.
