PSL Star’s Shock Exit: “It’s Over” Just Months After Signing Two-Year Deal

Botswana international goalkeeper Goitseone Phoko could be heading for an early exit from Siwelele FC, just four months after he signed a two-year contract with the South African club.

The 31-year-old arrived hoping to become an important member of the squad. His future is now said to be uncertain after a difficult start, and there are signs that he may no longer be a big part of the team's plans. Since joining, Phoko has made only three league appearances, which has raised questions about where he stands in the squad and why he has played so little.

According to Soccer Laduma, a change in the technical team may have played a big role. The departure of coach Lehlohonolo Seema is reportedly one of the reasons he has struggled to keep his place. An insider quoted by the publication said the coaching change made things hard for the goalkeeper. "When Seema left, it made things difficult for Phoko. It's over for him there," the source reportedly said.

The club has not confirmed that he is leaving. An announcement is reportedly expected soon, and that should give a clearer picture of his future and of the club's plans for the rest of the season.

Phoko's situation shows how a change in the technical team can affect a player's position. A new coach may have different ideas about tactics and selection, and that can hurt players who were part of the earlier plans. For a goalkeeper, regular game time is especially important for staying sharp, confident and consistent. With only three league appearances, Phoko may have to think about his options if his chances at Siwelele stay limited.

If he does leave, the club will also have to decide on its goalkeeping plans. It could either promote another player from within the squad or look for a replacement on the transfer market.

For now, supporters are waiting for an official update. If his exit is confirmed, it would be a surprisingly short stay for a player who signed a two-year deal. Until Siwelele FC makes an announcement, his departure should be seen as a reported possibility and not a final decision.
