The 33-year-old is said to have resumed playing in the Hollywoodbets Regional League, offering him an opportunity to revive his career after a prolonged absence from the professional game.
Sithebe previously established himself in South African football through his performances for AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs. His experience at both clubs helped him become a recognised figure among local football followers, particularly during his time competing in the country's top-flight league.
The midfielder joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2022 after departing AmaZulu. At the time, his move to Naturena presented an opportunity to strengthen his position and become a regular contributor to the Soweto-based club. However, competition within the squad and changes to the coaching setup affected his chances of securing a permanent starting role.
Although Sithebe featured in several games for Amakhosi, he eventually struggled to maintain his place as the club continued making adjustments to its playing personnel. His exit subsequently raised questions about where he would continue his football journey, especially as opportunities at professional level became increasingly difficult to secure.
His reported return through the Hollywoodbets Regional League could provide the playing time needed to rebuild his fitness and regain his competitive rhythm. Regional football also gives experienced players an opportunity to remain active while potentially attracting interest from teams operating in higher divisions.
For Sithebe, regular appearances could help him demonstrate that he still possesses the qualities required to compete effectively. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether he views the regional competition as a permanent destination or a temporary route towards securing another professional contract.
