Following Wednesday, October 28, 2026's last Round of 16 match between Stellenbosch FC and Durban City, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced that the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final draw will take place.

According to reports from October 26, this draw will determine the four quarter-final matches and the teams who will have home pitch advantage as the competition approaches its crucial phase.

Notable clubs such as Orlando Pirates, who are defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Kaizer Chiefs are still fighting for a berth in the last eight, and their Round of 16 matches are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Teams will find out who they will be facing in the quarterfinals of the 2026/27 Carling Knockout Cup following the final match at Chatsworth Stadium, which is set to start at 19:00 and is announced by the PSL.

Seeded teams will be drawn from Pot A, home and away teams will be drawn from Pot B, and the unseeded clubs will be drawn from Pot C.

The process involves sorting the clubs into seeded and unseeded pots according to their Betway Premiership standings from the previous season. This guarantees that every quarter-final match include one seeded and one unseeded team.

Both pots will stay sealed during the draw; the first will contain a ball from pot A put into pot B, and the second will contain a ball from pot C. Next, we'll draw two balls from Pot B; one will go to the home team and the other will go to the away team. Once all four quarterfinal matches and home/away assignments are finalised, the process will end.

Golden Arrows, Siwelele FC, AmaZulu FC, and Sekhukhune United are the four clubs that have qualified for the quarterfinals thus far. Games on Tuesday between Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Kaizer Chiefs, and Wednesday's meeting between Durban City and Stellenbosch FC, will fill up the remaining berths.

Many major clubs are still in the hunt for a spot in the knockout round, so this draw is sure to be exciting for fans. The clubs' chances of winning the Carling Knockout Cup improve as they move through the tournament, and the quarterfinal matches will be determined by the draw.
