Kaizer Chiefs have strengthened their attacking options ahead of the upcoming season with the signing of Bafana Bafana international Elias Mokwana.

The 27-year-old winger is set to return to South African football after spending two seasons in North Africa. The Soweto-based club are working towards building a competitive squad capable of challenging for major trophies, and Mokwana's arrival is expected to provide an additional boost to the Amakhosi team.

Mokwana previously established himself as one of the exciting attacking talents in South African football through his impressive performances for Sekhukhune United. His pace, movement in the final third and ability to trouble opposing defenders made him an influential player in the domestic league before attracting interest from clubs abroad.

The Bafana Bafana international took a major step in his career in 2024 when he joined Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis. The move gave him an opportunity to experience football in a different environment and test himself outside South Africa.

His return now presents an opportunity to revive his career on home soil while embracing a new challenge at one of the country's biggest football clubs.

Kaizer Chiefs could benefit from adding a player with international experience as they look to improve their attacking threat. Mokwana's versatility, together with his experience in domestic and international football, is expected to give the technical team more options in the wide attacking positions.

His previous experience in the Premier Soccer League should also make the transition easier, as he is already familiar with the demands and challenges of South African football.

Following his arrival at Naturena, Chiefs supporters will be hoping Mokwana can make a meaningful contribution through consistent performances, goals and assists as the club looks to achieve its ambitions.

Fans eager to see Amakhosi return to their former dominance will undoubtedly have high expectations, and the winger's signing adds to the excitement surrounding the team's plans.

Attention will now turn to how quickly Mokwana adapts to life at Naturena and makes his mark in the famous black and gold colours, with his return to South Africa opening another important chapter in his football career.
