Dr Irvin Khoza Reportedly Buys Relebohile Mofokeng His Dream House After Winning League Title

Orlando Pirates chairman Dr Irvin Khoza has reportedly fulfilled a promise to Relebohile Mofokeng by buying the talented midfielder a house of his choice after the player helped deliver the league title.

The story was shared by Mofokeng’s father, Sechaba Mofokeng, who revealed that his son had entered into a friendly wager with the Pirates chairman over the league title.

According to Sechaba, Khoza promised to buy Relebohile a house of his choice if he succeeded in helping Orlando Pirates win the league. In return, the young footballer reportedly promised to pay the chairman R200,000 if he failed to deliver the title.

The agreement came after Mofokeng reportedly turned down several opportunities to move abroad, choosing instead to remain with the Soweto giants and continue contributing to the club's ambitions.

The young star subsequently delivered on the promise, with his performances playing a significant role in the club's title-winning campaign.

According to his father, Khoza also honoured his side of the agreement by purchasing the house Mofokeng wanted. Sechaba reportedly confirmed that the purchase took place before his son left for Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise.

The reported gesture has attracted attention, with supporters praising the Pirates chairman for rewarding a player who committed himself to the club's ambitions.

Beyond the value of the house, the story highlights the importance of trust, loyalty and keeping one's word in professional football. Mofokeng's decision to remain at Pirates, coupled with his performances on the pitch, has made him a key figure in the club's recent success.

Khoza, who has led Orlando Pirates for many years, is widely recognised as one of the influential figures in South African football.

If confirmed, the reported house purchase would be another memorable moment in the relationship between the chairman and one of the club's most exciting young talents.

For Pirates supporters, the story represents more than a reward. It is a reminder that commitment and performance can strengthen the bond between a player and his club.
