Arrows Coach Ncikazi Draws the Line on Family Matters: “I’ll Never Speak Badly of Anyone”

Golden Arrows head coach Mandla Ncikazi has attracted attention following his remarks about family privacy, personal struggles and the importance of respecting others, with the experienced tactician making it clear that he would never expose private matters or speak negatively about another person in public.

Ncikazi, who recently returned to Golden Arrows after spending five years at Orlando Pirates, shared his views on why family and personal challenges should remain private rather than becoming subjects of public discussion.

The 57-year-old used a familiar saying to explain his position, suggesting that every family experiences difficulties that should not necessarily be exposed to outsiders.

"Every house has a toilet. As a man, you don't tell people about the challenges your family has," Ncikazi said.

His statement reflects his belief that disagreements and personal struggles are part of everyday life and should be handled with dignity and discretion. He also emphasised that he would never deliberately speak badly about anyone, regardless of the circumstances.

The comments have attracted interest partly because of their timing, following his departure from Orlando Pirates, where he spent five years as part of the technical team. During his time with the Buccaneers, Ncikazi contributed to a successful period that included several domestic trophies, a league title and participation in major continental competitions.

Although he has not directly linked his remarks to his departure from Pirates or any particular individual, his emphasis on privacy and respect has generated discussion among football followers.

His return to Golden Arrows represents another important chapter in his coaching career. During his previous spell at the Durban-based club, he guided Abafana Bes'thende to fourth place in the 2020/21 Premiership season, their highest league finish in history.

Ncikazi now faces the challenge of rebuilding the squad and restoring the club's competitiveness. His latest remarks suggest that, beyond football, he remains committed to protecting personal relationships and avoiding unnecessary public confrontations.
