Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has praised Tshepang Moremi following his impressive performance in the Buccaneers' 3-0 victory over Milford FC in the last 16 of the Carling Knockout Cup.

Moremi played a significant role in the convincing result, scoring twice to help Pirates secure their place in the quarter-finals of the competition. His contribution attracted particular attention from the coaching staff, with Ouaddou expressing satisfaction with the forward's growing influence and goal-scoring form.

The Pirates manager believes Moremi has the quality to make an important contribution to South African football, including at international level. His recent performances have strengthened the argument that the attacker deserves another opportunity to represent Bafana Bafana.

Speaking about the player's progress and potential return to the national team, Ouaddou said: “I’m happy that he’s scoring, and I hope quickly that he is coming back to the national team because he’s a major player for South Africa.”

The coach's comments demonstrate how highly he regards Moremi and the importance he places on the player's contribution to the team. Scoring twice in a knockout competition is a significant achievement, particularly when the goals help a club move closer to winning silverware.

For Moremi, the performance against Milford FC represents another opportunity to demonstrate his attacking ability and establish himself as an important member of the Pirates squad. His finishing, movement and confidence in front of goal could become valuable assets as the season progresses.

Ouaddou will also be encouraged by the competition for places within his attacking department. Having players capable of delivering important goals gives the coaching staff more options when selecting the team for challenging fixtures.

Meanwhile, the possibility of Moremi returning to the Bafana Bafana setup will be another important development to follow. Representing the national team is a significant achievement for any footballer, and consistent performances at club level could strengthen his chances of receiving another call-up.

Orlando Pirates will now look to build on their impressive Carling Knockout Cup performance as they continue pursuing success in their remaining competitions.

Moremi's two-goal contribution has certainly provided plenty of encouragement, while Ouaddou's public support highlights the confidence the coach has in his abilities. The forward will now be expected to maintain his form and continue delivering important performances for the Buccaneers.
