Orlando Pirates supporters have started talking about who could replace head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou if the Moroccan leaves the club one day. Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Jabulani Arthur Zwane, popularly known as 10111, is one of the names fans have mentioned.
Ouaddou has made a good impression since he took charge of the Soweto club. Parts of the Pirates fan base admire his coaching ideas, his ambition and the way he manages the team. Many supporters believe he can lead the Buccaneers to more success in local competitions and on the continental stage. Some of them hope he will stay for several years, arguing that he has what it takes to build a strong squad that can challenge for major honours.
One supporter said it would be hard to imagine the club without Ouaddou, given how well he has settled in since arriving. The same supporter accepted that football is unpredictable and that coaches can leave unexpectedly.
The conversation then moved to possible successors, and Zwane was put forward as someone the club could consider if the position ever became vacant. Supporters who back the idea point to his experience in South African football and his knowledge of the local coaching scene. They believe that understanding of the domestic game could be useful if Pirates decide to appoint a different coach in future.
It is important to note that nothing suggests Pirates are thinking about dismissing or replacing Ouaddou. The club has not announced any coaching change, and Zwane's name is only a suggestion from fans.
For now, Ouaddou remains in charge as the team chases its goals in different competitions. The talk among supporters still shows how much they care about the long-term direction of the club's technical leadership.
