Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung has reassured supporters that the club will soon announce important developments regarding its coaching position and transfer activity as preparations for the 2026/27 season continue.

Speaking during the launch of the latest Toyota Cup, Motaung said the club is carefully finalising decisions involving the technical team and playing squad before making any official statements. She explained that the process is being handled with due consideration to ensure the best possible outcome for the club.

Motaung also confirmed that renowned South African coach Pitso Mosimane was among those considered for the head coach role. However, discussions did not result in an appointment after Mosimane decided not to take up the opportunity. Despite that outcome, she expressed confidence that the club is close to naming its new coach and said supporters will be informed once the process has been completed.

As part of their pre-season preparations, Kaizer Chiefs are scheduled to face Zimbabwean champions Scotland FC in the Toyota Cup on 26 July at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg. The match is expected to provide valuable preparation ahead of the new campaign.

Motaung praised the work of the current coaching staff and acknowledged their contribution to the team’s recent progress. She added that the club aims to build on that foundation while continuing to strengthen both its technical setup and playing squad.

She further revealed that the Toyota Cup will serve as more than a pre-season fixture, with plans to introduce the club’s new head coach, unveil new signings, and showcase the latest playing kit during the event.

With anticipation growing among fans, Motaung reiterated that positive announcements are on the horizon and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to long-term success as it prepares for the challenges of the upcoming season.
