KAI HAVERTZ has established himself as the highest-scoring German in Premier League history, netting the decisive goal for Arsenal against Liverpool.
The 27-year-old forward for the Gunners found the target with a well-placed shot from Declan Rice’s assist, giving his team a 1-0 advantage just 13 minutes into the match at Anfield.
This goal marked Havertz’s 46th in 172 Premier League appearances since his arrival in England in 2020.
With this achievement, he surpassed fellow German Ilkay Gundogan’s previous record of 45 goals, which was the highest for any German player in the Premier League.
Gundogan, now 36, achieved his tally in 221 appearances during two tenures with Manchester City.
Initially, Havertz joined Chelsea in 2020 as a midfielder.

Currently in third place among German Premier League scorers is Pascal Gross of Brighton.
The creative midfielder has netted 34 goals across 256 appearances during his two stints with the Seagulls.
Gross, now 35, first joined Brighton in 2017, prior to their debut Premier League season under Chris Hughton.
After a brief spell at Borussia Dortmund in 2024, he returned to Brighton just 18 months later.
Gross’s total puts him one ahead of Mesut Ozil, who scored 33 goals in 184 appearances for Arsenal from 2013 to 2021.
The former Real Madrid star was also an impressive creator, assisting 57 goals for his teammates in the Premier League.
Uwe Rosler and Jurgen Klinsmann follow closely with 29 goals each.
Klinsmann achieved his total over 56 games during two tenures with Tottenham, scoring 20 in the 1994-95 season after joining from Monaco.
After two seasons with Bayern Munich and a short period at Sampdoria, Klinsmann returned to Tottenham on loan for the 1997-98 season, scoring nine times in 15 appearances to help keep Spurs from relegation.
Meanwhile, Rosler scored his 29 goals over three seasons with Manchester City from 1993 to 1996, which included 15 in the 1994-95 season.
He also made 23 Premier League appearances for Southampton but did not score for the Saints.
Leroy Sane found the net 25 times in 90 Premier League matches for Man City, playing a key role in their league title wins during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, scoring 10 goals in each campaign.
Sane transferred to Bayern Munich in 2020 and now, at 30, is competing for Galatasaray in Turkey.
Brentford’s Kevin Schade has scored 24 goals in 111 appearances since joining from Freiburg in 2023, and at 24 years old, he is poised to continue adding to that tally.
Robert Huth surprisingly ranks ninth with 21 goals from 322 Premier League matches.
Huth, now 42, was a winner of three Premier League titles—two with Chelsea and one memorable title with Leicester City.
His highest goal count in a season came in 2010-11, when he scored six for Stoke City under manager Tony Pulis.
Finishing the list is Lukas Podolski, the left-footed forward who netted 19 times in 60 Premier League games while at Arsenal from 2012 to 2015. Now 41, Podolski retired from football earlier this year after a spell in Poland.
