The India U-15 national team are looking to keep their positive momentum going in the qualification stages of the 2026 FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival when they face off against Cameroon U-15 in their next clash at the Hovsan Competition Complex, Baku on Sunday (25 October 2026).

After managing a comfortable win over Laos U-15 in their opening game, Bibiano Fernandes’ players will look to keep their upwards climb with a thrilling display against the African giants.

The Stakes

India U-15

The India U-15 side have been able to prove that they’re capable of holding their own in such international competitions like the FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival with their big win over Laos recently.

However, Fernandes will need his boys to further pick up their performance levels to be able to produce a compelling display against the Cameroon U-15 side. He will need his players to be defensively much stronger than they were in the last game, maintaining a more reliable backline in this upcoming 8v8 clash.

However, as is the point of this competition, the gaffer will motivate his players to prioritize thrilling attacking football to be able to entertain the fans watching and prove they can perform at the same level as Cameroon. A possible win for the Indian youngsters will be a huge boost in self-belief for them, but a heavy loss could be particularly gutting.

Cameroon U-15

The Cameroon U-15 team were also able to start off their 2026 FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival in blistering fashion, with a dominating 3-0 thrashing of rivals Senegal U-15. Now, their mentality will be to maintain consistency to be able to prove themselves capable of winning the qualification group as well.

The Cameroonian youngsters will look to show off their technical prowess by playing some well-knit, thrilling attacking football and look to expose the vulnerabilities of the Indian players.

They will look to continue playing the combative football that helped them soar against Senegal U-15 to be able to avoid any kind of a hiccup. Another big win for the Cameroon U-15 side will bolster their momentum levels, but being held or losing to the Indian youngsters is going to be a major setback.

Bibiano Fernandes will have a fully fit squad available for the Cameroon U-15 side, but it’ll be interesting if he makes any changes to his starting lineup.

R Lalremruatfela (India U-15)

R Lalremruatfela had a thrilling start to the 2026 FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival qualification stages with a memorable display against the Laos U-15 side.

He was prolific in the attack for his side in the clash, making clever runs into the attacking zones and combining really well. The youngster also showed real quality with his finishing to score his two goals, and is flying high on momentum heading into the clash against Cameroon U-15.
