Saim Ayub dropped from Pakistan ODI squad

Pakistan opener Saim Ayub has been dropped from the national squad following a series of disappointing performances in the ongoing tri-nation series, with Sahibzada Farhan named as his replacement in the ODI squad.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has directed Saim to play domestic cricket to regain his form, while Farhan will travel back from Nepal to join the national side.

Saim Ayub struggled to make an impact in the first three matches of the tri-nation series, managing just 21 runs across the games.

His continued lack of runs appears to have prompted the selectors to make a change, bringing an end to his place in the national squad for the time being.

The PCB has decided that the left-handed opener should return to domestic cricket, where he will have an opportunity to regain his confidence and batting form.

Farhan named as replacement

Sahibzada Farhan has been included in Pakistan’s ODI squad as a replacement for Saim Ayub.

Farhan, who captains Pakistan’s T20 side, is currently in Nepal participating in the Nepal Premier League (NPL). He will depart for Pakistan on the first available flight to join the national squad.

His inclusion provides Pakistan with another opening option as the team looks to strengthen its batting lineup during the tri-nation series.

PCB wants Saim to regain form

The PCB said Saim Ayub would play domestic cricket on the board’s directive, with the aim of helping the opener rediscover his form.

The decision follows his return of only 21 runs in the first three matches of the tri-nation series and signals a change in Pakistan’s squad following his recent struggles.

Saim will now have to work on his performance in domestic competitions as he looks to regain a place in the national side.
