MANDLA Ncikazi is back home at Lamontville Golden Arrows.
Arrows have confirmed Ncikazi as their new head coach after he left Orlando Pirates.
The Durban-based club welcomed back a familiar face who knows Abafana Bes’thende well and has a strong history with the team.
Ncikazi previously led Arrows to an impressive fourth-place finish in the 2020/21 DStv Premiership season before leaving for Pirates in 2021.
He spent a successful period with the Buccaneers, where he served in different coaching roles.
Ncikazi worked as co-coach alongside Fadlu Davids before becoming an assistant coach under José Riveiro and later Abdeslam Ouaddou.
He also had a brief spell as caretaker coach in 2025.
Pirates confirmed his departure after discussions with club management and permitted him to return to a head coach role.
Golden Arrows said they were delighted to bring Ncikazi back as they begin a new chapter.
“Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club is delighted to welcome back Coach Mandla Ncikazi, who returns to Abafana Bes’thende to take the reins as head coach.
“A familiar face, a proud son of the club and a man who understands the culture and traditions of the club.”
Arrows said they expect to benefit from Ncikazi’s experience and deep knowledge of the game.
“We look forward to benefiting from his immense knowledge and experience attained over the course of a long and successful career.
“We look forward to this new chapter as we unite behind Coach Ncikazi and the journey ahead,” the club said.
The club also welcomed him with a warm message to supporters.
“Shende Nation welcomes you back, Coach. Home is where it all begins. Siyakwamukela ekhaya, Mqeqeshi.”
Ncikazi’s return follows Arrows’ confirmation that they’d parted ways with coach Pitso Dladla with immediate effect.
The club said both parties had agreed to part ways.
“Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club and Coach Pitso Diadla have agreed to part ways effective immediately.
“The club would like to thank Coach Diadla for his efforts, commitment and dedication during his tenure at the club,” Arrows said.
Ncikazi now returns to a club where he has already proved himself.
His knowledge of the team, the club culture and the Premier Soccer League could be key as Arrows look to improve under his leadership.
