Qatar has transferred nearly 15 buses and various security equipment from the 2022 World Cup to Senegal to support the upcoming Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. The donation aims to assist preparations for the first Olympic event organized in Africa.

Dakar Youth Olympic Preparations Receive Fleet and Security Gear

The equipment transfer directly targets infrastructure needs ahead of the Youth Olympic Games, scheduled to run from October 31 to November 13, 2026. The Qatari state provided approximately 15 buses alongside security equipment previously deployed during the 2022 World Cup. The bilateral handover highlights an ongoing diplomatic and logistical partnership between the two nations ahead of the competition.

State of Qatar to Senegal.

Doha Extends Major Event Legacy to African Soil

Doha’s initiative leverages assets from the 2022 tournament to bolster host-country capabilities. The arrangement aligns with Qatar's desire to share the experience acquired during the 2022 World Cup and remain involved in international sports.

Beyond the Dakar contribution, the emirate is scheduled to host the U17 World Cup and the Intercontinental Cup in 2026.

Logistical Timeline Leading to October 2026

With the opening ceremony of the Dakar Youth Olympic Games fixed for October 31, 2026, local organizers in Senegal face a timeline to integrate the newly arrived Qatari transport fleet into the host city’s transit network.
