All four unbeaten teams in Europe's top five leagues in 2026-27 season

Only four teams remain undefeated this season.

FC Bayern Munich v Borussia Dortmund - Bundesliga 2026/27

Over the years, teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich have amassed some impressive point totals, but an unbeaten campaign has proven too strong for them.

In the 2026-27 season, four clubs from two leagues – none in the Premier League or LaLiga – remain undefeated. Recently, Inter Milan fell to their neighbours, AC Milan, while FC Barcelona lost to rivals Real Madrid in El Clásico.

We’ve examined the remaining quartet’s chances of imitating those well-known teams in more detail.

Top four Unbeaten teams in the 2026-27 campaign

Team League Wins
AS Roma Serie A 7
Lazio Serie A 9
Borussia Dortmund Bundesliga 5
Bayern Munich Bundesliga 5

4. AS Roma

AS Roma haven’t won Serie A in 25 years. In 2010, Claudio Ranieri got the closest, battling Mourinho’s Inter all the way before losing the title.

Atalanta played some fantastic football under Gian Piero Gasperini, but the seasoned coach has never taken home a Scudetto. In Rome, might that be different this term? So far this season, they have played ten games, drawn three, and won seven.

3. Lazio

After his terrible tenure as Italy’s manager, Gennaro Gattuso has recovered remarkably. Lazio have won nine of their first ten Serie A games this season after winning all of their preseason friendlies. They proved to be this season’s surprise gift with an incredible 3-0 triumph away to Juventus.

2. Borussia Dortmund

We hope for a legitimate Borussia Dortmund championship challenge each season. Jurgen Klopp last guided them to the Bundesliga championship in 2012, which was much too long ago.

They had a very good start with five straight victories. Moreover, they are on equal points with Bayern Munich and will hope to continue in the same vein. Dortmund should maintain the current form until the end of the season if they are challenging for the title.

1. Bayern Munich

The Bundesliga champions are still undefeated, which is not a major surprise in the grand scheme of things. Bayern Munich scored seven goals against Union Berlin and six against Leipzig, but they were goalless against Schalke and were held by Augsburg. They are unstoppable when they are on it. But one slip-up could be a big mistake, as most of the teams are not far behind on points in the league.

Where do Bayern Munich stand in the Bundesliga table?

They are first in the league.

Where do AS Roma stand in the Serie A table?

They are third in the league.
