Kelechi Iheanacho extended his extraordinary scoring run on Sunday, striking as Bursaspor claimed a 4-2 away win over Keçiörengücü in Turkey’s 1. Lig.
The Nigeria international scored five minutes after the restart at Aktepe Stadium, putting Bursaspor 3-2 in front after a breathless opening 45 minutes in which each side had scored twice.
Keçiörengücü attempted to respond following Iheanacho’s decisive second-half intervention, but Bursaspor protected their advantage and added another goal in the 66th minute. Lincoln made it 4-2, giving the visitors firmer control of the contest and sealing an important victory.
Iheanacho’s goal meant he has now scored in 12 straight league outings, surpassing his own mark for the longest scoring sequence in Turkish football. Before Sunday’s match, he had found the net in 11 consecutive league appearances for Bursaspor.
The forward’s sustained output has made him a central figure in Bursaspor’s attacking unit since his move to the Turkish side. His recent performances have reflected both his confidence and clinical edge in front of goal.
Iheanacho will aim to keep the momentum going as Bursaspor pursue their objectives in the Turkish second tier, with his form offering supporters plenty of encouragement for the games to come.
