Butambala County claimed third place in the Buganda Masaza Cup after edging Bugerere 1–0 in the third-place playoff at Mutesa II Memorial Stadium.

The match attracted thousands of supporters from across Buganda, with fans filling the stadium, waving flags, singing and chanting in support of their respective counties.

Bugerere started strongly, dominating much of the first half and creating several scoring opportunities but failed to convert them.

Butambala returned from the break with renewed determination, mounting sustained pressure and creating dangerous chances.

Their persistence paid off in the 84th minute when Disan Mubiru scored the decisive goal, sending Butambala supporters into celebration.

The late strike secured the bronze medal for Butambala and condemned Bugerere to another defeat in the third-place playoff.

Bugerere suffered a similar fate in 2025, when they lost 1–0 to Kyagwe in the same playoff.
