After defeating James Island 6-0 in the second round of the playoffs, Summerville went on the road and fell to Gray Collegiate Academy.

Grey defeated the Green Wave 5-1 at the Lexington Tennis Center Complex. The lone Summerville win came from Abigail Hough at No. 2 singles with a score of 6-2, 7-5. Summerville was eliminated from the playoffs with the loss.

However, the season is not yet over for Summerville’s top two players, sisters Grace Hough and Abigail Hough, who have qualified for the state individuals’ tournament scheduled for Nov. 9-10. Grace is making a repeat appearance at the tournament while Abigail qualified for the first time.
