Victor Boniface is keen to leave Bayer Leverkusen in the January transfer window in search of regular playing time, with his prospects at the Bundesliga club having taken another hit.
The Nigerian striker was initially left out of Leverkusen’s squad for the Europa League league phase, and the club have since opted against registering him at a later stage. The decision has further complicated his situation at the BayArena, leaving his opportunities to feature in European competition limited.
As a result, Boniface is now looking to find a new club in January where he can get his career back on track and return to playing regularly, as reported by Sky Germany.
While his desire to leave has been clearly communicated through his representatives, there are not yet any known concrete negotiations with potential suitors, nor is a transfer believed to be at an advanced stage.
With the winter transfer window approaching, Boniface’s situation is one to monitor as he looks to secure a move that will offer him a clearer pathway to regular first-team football.
