Tomáš Chorý přijal trest od SK Slavia Praha a nebude se proti němu odvolávat, uvedl. Instead, the 31-year-old striker has requested an immediate mutual termination of his contract through his representation at Nehoda Sport.
The disciplinary action followed a 0–0 league draw against FC Hradec Králové on October 17, 2026, during which referee Jan Všetečka booked the forward with a red card for showing a middle finger.
Chorý confirmed his stance regarding the club’s decision via a statement released on the social platform X by his agency, Nehoda Sport. The player stated that he received the ruling from sporting director Přemysl Kovář, fully respects the verdict, and accepts complete responsibility for his conduct on the pitch.
“Today I received the decision of sporting director Přemysl Kovář, which I fully respect and will not appeal,” Chorý said in the agency’s statement. The forward also acknowledged the club’s official stance and the public remarks made by head coach Jindřich Trpišovský, who stated earlier in the week that the player would no longer feature for the Prague side.
The punishment marks the maximum possible internal sanction permitted under Slavia’s disciplinary code. Aside from the suspension and the fine—which the club directed to the Slavia Endowment Fund—management determined that the forward could leave during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Rather than waiting for the winter window to secure a transfer, Chorý’s camp has pushed for an immediate separation. Citing the club’s willingness to let him go in a few months, the forward argued that ripping up the contract immediately serves the best interests of both parties.
“I believe that the best solution for both sides would be the immediate termination of our cooperation on the basis of mutual agreement,” Chorý stated. He added an apology to supporters, teammates, and club personnel for the complications caused by his dismissal against Hradec Králové.
Fan reaction on club forums and social media immediately criticized the request, pointing out that an immediate free agency departure would allow Chorý to leave without generating a transfer fee for Slavia, whereas a winter sale would enable the club to monetize his remaining contract.
David Nehoda, the player’s agent, indicated that discussions will soon begin with club management to map out the next professional steps. While Plzeň pursued the forward during the summer—an approach Slavia rejected—the focus has now shifted entirely toward foreign leagues.
Podle vyjádření agenta Davida Nehody jsou možnými destinacemi Řecko, Polsko a Kypr, přičemž registruje také náznak nabídky ze Saúdské Arábie a z Dubaje. Chorý arrived at Slavia in the summer of 2024 from Viktoria Plzeň, subsequently scoring 41 goals in 88 competitive appearances and helping the team capture two league titles before disciplinary issues fractured his relationship with the Eden faithful.
The forward’s downward spiral featured multiple disciplinary infractions over the previous twelve months, including a strike to the groin of Slovácko goalkeeper Milan Heča, an alleged spitting incident directed at Plzeň defender Sampson Dweh, and a red card in May during the abandoned derby against Sparta for striking Asger Sørensen with an elbow in the face. Following the derby incident, board chairman Jaroslav Tvrdík declared that Chorý would never play for the red-and-whites again, though intervention from teammates, head coach Trpišovský, and club owner Pavel Tykač ultimately reinstated him to the squad before his latest dismissal brought an end to all internal patience.
