Wales star Jac Morgan left fans and pundits blown away with a remarkable individual display as Gloucester stunned arch-rivals Bath to claim a 23-5 victory at Kingsholm.

Morgan was an absolute colossus, making 20 tackles without missing a single one, while adding 12 carries, two linebreaks and a crucial steal at the breakdown in a dominant all-round display.

The 26-year-old, who joined Gloucester from the Ospreys in the summer, has wasted little time making his mark at Kingsholm, emerging as a pivotal figure in the Cherry & Whites' rise to the top of the Gallagher Prem table.

Gloucester had to show immense grit to get the job done, even spending a spell down to 13 men, but a phenomenal defensive rearguard kept Bath at bay to seal a statement victory.

Morgan's fellow Wales internationals Freddie Thomas and Max Llewellyn also crossed for tries as the Cherry & Whites delivered a memorable performance against their fiercest rivals.

"He turns up for training every day," Gloucester head coach George Skivington told TNT Sports.

"He never looks for a soft day. He's all in, all out. Any drills, Jac's going to go hard and he's going to turn up every day for work.

"I think that's where some of our young guys we were talking about before who've been growing and growing over the last few years.

"They've taken another step because they are seeing someone like Jac who never wants the easy option out of anything.

"Nothing he says he doesn't back up and he's composed.

"He says it, he does it and the lads are following it.

"And he's a brilliant bloke to have in the environment because he's got no ego. For a guy who plays like this and works this hard that's really impressive."

Wales legend Dan Biggar, who is now a respected pundit, was also waxing lyrical about Morgan, comparing him to England great Courtney Lawes.

"What I would say is from playing with Jac and Jac coming into the Wales team when I was towards the end he's infectious with his energy and his work rate," Biggar told TNT Sports.

"He rolls his sleeves up and gets on with it.

"It's easy to say the right things but he does the right things every single day. Speaking to Chris Boyd about how much of an impact he's had at this club driving the standards of everyone.

"He's a little bit like Courtney Lawes in a way.

"When he speaks in training or in a match everyone listens because of his actions."

Morgan has also come in for huge praise on social media, with former Gloucester lock Ed Slater tweeting "Jac Morgan, is he human?"

One user on X described Morgan as a "truly wondrous rugby player" with another saying "So good seeing Gloucester do well again. Jac Morgan has changed their lives."

Another said "Jac Morgan is the greatest rugby player I've ever seen, get him a lifetime contract. I want to watch him play every game for the rest of my life."

Morgan's form is also good news for Steve Tandy ahead of the Nations Championship next month when Wales will face Japan, New Zealand and Australia at the Principality Stadium before the finals weekend at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

And the man from Brynamman is loving his new life at Kingsholm.

"It was pretty special to be out on the field with all the supporters here tonight," Morgan told TNT Sports.

"The Shed was bouncing and the atmosphere was class so to be able to play in front of them and all the supporters.

"You've got to give credit to the boys in how they dug deep in those moments to keep getting off the line and keep defending.

"It's been a good start to the season and there's been a lot of positives but there's still so much growth in the group and I think that's the exciting part of it."
