Washington Commanders vs. Philadelphia Eagles Week 8 inactives: Who's in, out?

The Washington Commanders ruled two players out for Sunday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately for Washington, it’s arguably its two best defensive linemen, Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw. Payne was healthy all week until he fractured his foot during Friday's practice, ending his season.

So, when the Commanders revealed their inactive list for Sunday Night Football against the Eagles, Payne and Kinlaw headlined the list.

Another positive change for Washington is the return of backup quarterback Marcus Mariota. After spraining his MCL in a Week 4 game against Indianapolis, Mariota returns as Jayden Daniels’ backup, leaving rookie Athan Kaliakmanis to return to the inactive list and serve as Washington’s emergency third quarterback.

Here’s the Commanders’ full inactive list for Sunday night vs. the Eagles:

  • QB Athan Kaliakmanis (emergency 3rd QB)

  • CB Fabian Moreau

  • CB Isaac Yiadom

  • G Tanoa Togiai

  • DT Daron Payne

  • DT Javon Kinlaw

With Trey Amos back, Washington has the following four cornerbacks active: Amos, Amik Robertson, Rasul Douglas and Mike Sainristil.

Here are the Eagles' inactives for Sunday night:

  • WR DeVonta Smith

  • LB Jihaad Campbell

  • WR Dontayvion Wicks

  • CB Jonathan Jones

  • OL Jake Majors

  • WR Britain Covey

Smith and Wicks are two of Philadelphia's starting wide receivers, meaning Washington could see a heavy dose of tight end Dallas Goedert and rookie receiver Makai Lemon.
