Arsenal injury update on Bukayo Saka, Piero Hincapie and Christos Tzolis

According to a report by Evening Standard on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Arsenal are waiting for further updates on the fitness of Bukayo Saka, Piero Hincapie and Christos Tzolis as they prepare to face Everton in the Premier League.

The three players have encountered different injury setbacks, leaving Mikel Arteta with important decisions to make ahead of the weekend fixture. Arsenal are entering a busy stretch of the season, and the manager will want to avoid losing more key players while attempting to maintain his team's competitive form.

Saka is currently the most significant concern following his injury during Arsenal's Champions League encounter with Bayern Munich. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, but the Gunners were forced to replace the England international after only 10 minutes because of a quadriceps problem.

The early substitution has raised doubts about whether the winger will be available for the meeting with Everton. Saka has established himself as one of Arsenal's most influential attacking players, regularly contributing goals, assists and dangerous attacking movements.

His ability to create opportunities and stretch opposition defences makes him an important part of Arteta's plans. Consequently, any extended absence could affect Arsenal's attacking effectiveness during their upcoming matches.

Arteta has acknowledged the seriousness of the concern, explaining that Saka experienced sharp pain during the Bayern Munich encounter. The manager also indicated that the club would need to wait for further medical examinations before reaching a clearer conclusion about the injury.

October 24 has been mentioned as a possible date for Saka's return, but his participation against Everton remains uncertain.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have received more encouraging indications regarding Hincapie, who is recovering from an ankle injury.

The Ecuadorian defender suffered the setback during the warm-down after Arsenal's victory over Leeds United. The injury prevented him from featuring in subsequent matches, leaving Arteta with fewer defensive options.

However, Hincapie has now resumed individual training, offering hope that he could return to the squad soon.

Arteta has suggested that the defender may be considered for selection against Everton if he makes sufficient progress in training over the coming days.

His availability would be a welcome development for Arsenal, as the team prepares for several demanding fixtures. Nevertheless, the club will need to assess his condition carefully to determine whether he is ready to return to competitive football.

Tzolis is facing a different challenge after sustaining a hamstring injury while representing Greece against the Netherlands in the Nations League.

The winger was unable to continue playing after picking up the problem and subsequently underwent a scan to establish the extent of the damage.

Arteta confirmed that Tzolis had suffered a muscle injury that would require several weeks of recovery. Although October 24 has been suggested as a possible return date, his fitness for the Everton match remains unclear.

His potential absence could create further selection difficulties for Arsenal, particularly if Saka is also unavailable. Arteta may have to explore alternative attacking options to ensure his side maintains sufficient quality and depth in the wide positions.

For now, Arsenal will continue monitoring all three players before making final decisions regarding their involvement against Everton.

Hincapie appears to have a realistic opportunity to return if his recovery continues positively, while Saka's condition remains a major concern. Tzolis, meanwhile, faces a race against time to recover from his hamstring problem.

Arteta will be hoping for favourable medical updates as Arsenal prepare for the next challenge in their Premier League campaign.
